Carrying on the spirit of Mr. Hsieh Kuo-Cheng to champion the future of Taiwan baseball

Mr. Hsieh Kuo-Cheng dedicated his life to promoting baseball in Taiwan, laying a solid foundation for the sport. He led the Chinese Taipei Golden Dragons Little League team to win the 1969 Little League World Series, which subsequently propelled Taiwan to the Triple Crown throne in Little League, Junior League, and Senior League world championships. His tireless dedication earned him profound admiration, and he is revered throughout the baseball community as the 'Father of Taiwan Baseball' and the 'Father of Taiwan Little League Baseball.'

In 1980, the exhaustive travel and immense stress of organizing domestic and international tournaments and expanding the baseball association's operations took a toll on Mr. Hsieh. Tragically, he passed away from a sudden heart attack, bringing an end to over 30 years of selfless dedication to Taiwan baseball.

In 1990, Dr. Hsieh Nan-Chiang and his family established the 'Hsieh Kuo-Cheng Baseball Cultural and Educational Foundation.' The foundation is dedicated to realizing Mr. Hsieh's vision to 'prevent the decline of baseball teams and grow the baseball population' and to 'unite those with a true, passionate love for baseball to achieve our goals together.' We strive to restore Taiwan's prestige as a Little League powerhouse. Since its inception, the foundation's annual Hsieh Kuo-Cheng Cup championships have consistently elevated the level of domestic competition and popularized the sport.

Dedicated to promoting baseball and increasing participation in the sport, the Foundation operates the following initiatives in accordance with relevant regulations:

    World home-run king Sadaharu Oh visited Taiwan. The friendship Chairman Hsieh Nan-Chiang shares with him dates back to his father Hsieh Kuo-Cheng's era. In 1969, when the Golden Dragons won the Little League World Series, Oh personally wrote a congratulatory letter to Hsieh Kuo-Cheng — one of the most moving Taiwan-Japan baseball stories in the foundation's history.
